🔅 DPI? 🔅 Dots per inch, or DPI, refers to the amount of pixels per inch an image contains. Two of the most common DPI measurements to know include: 🖨️ 300 DPI - industry standard for a high resolution image. Make sure all images and graphics are at least 300 DPI when being used for scanning/printing to ensure that your project looks it's best! 📱72 DPI - base for web usage. If you are planning on uploading an image or graphic to the web, the baseline is 72 DPI. Although most monitors can support more, this number allows for all web browsers and monitors to view the image—making it the standard DPI for web! (It also helps to make your file size smaller 👀) The DPI can be adjusted in most photo editing software such as Photoshop! 📷

From JPEG, PNG, GIF, to PSD, AI, & TIFF—there are a lot of file types 😅 let's chat about two of the most common file types, JPEG & PNG, and how these files types can come in handy on the daily 💻 💾 JPEG - allows for images to be compressed to smaller file sizes, this is handy especially for web usage! Make it too small or too big though and your file will lose quality. 💽 PNG - allows for transparency in your images and flexible sizing. You can shrink and expand a PNG more than a JPEG without losing quality! 🔎 Both of these file types are extremely handy depending on your project! Ever see colours referred to by HEX codes and not quite sure what they mean? 🧐 Hex codes are a hexadecimal format for identifying colours—each colour in the sRGB colour space has its own code. To put it simply—HEX codes help coders to ensure that the same colour is selected and used across a website. Why does this matter? 🌈 Having a set brand colour helps to make your brand identifiable (for example our orange is #ff4a1b) 💥 Allows for consistency in colour use across web, photo editing platforms, and more 🧡 Makes any updates or changes to your branding easier communicate to a graphic designer, web designer, and creative team!
